Is the eyeline indicator a little high or low? Just click on it and drag to reposition – the change is automatically mirrored in the second window. If the talent is not operating the teleprompter, PromptDog offers a second resizable window that can be positioned on a second monitor with perfectly synchronized scrolling so you can operate the prompter for your talent.

I don't know how we would manage with scrolling software, given its limitation to jump smoothly when the spirit leads the worship team to make changes in mid song. The PrompterPro4 Teleprompter Software is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, or 10, and Mac OSX. IF you still want "teleprompting software" (which allows variable scrolling speed) try or a similar utility (just google search for "teleprompting software"). Discuss that with your worship team -they may not have thought that through. It will dissolve the text out and in between each page, which helps the congregation follow that you have changed the slide a few beats before the finish of the current page vocals without looking "jumpy". In order to get the scrolling "feel" using OpenLP, turn on "transitions" in your background themes. This is why you don't find "teleprompter" scrolling software being used in most worship services. Try that feature and think about what it means to lose that ability. OpenLP and other worship programs use the "paging" format so that you can IMMEDIATELY jump to wherever the music leader takes you in a song, with a single (C) or double (V2) keystroke. BUT - if you find and use a program that does scroll, you will quickly find that it limits your flexibility during a worship service: If the music director decides to repeat a verse on the spur fo the moment, or skip a verse (often trying to adjust time), you're going to be scrambling to scroll back (or forward) to that portion of the song - and it confuses the congregation when that happens. Hi Evan! Greetings from Atlanta Georgia! I've been a worship arts tech for over 20 years, and I too thought scrolling would look cool. Get them to provide the aim/purpose/goal, and let you find the best technical solution that achieves that :-)Įdit: my comments are not intended to provoke you, just trying to help :-) If you have no choice in this matter, then you could also consider (Disclaimer I know nothing about either of these products, I simply used Google) I'm sure there's something great they want to achieve, but this probably isn't the riight technical solution to it.

My recommendation would be to go back to your leadership and find out what the motive is behind the scrolling text idea.

It is in fact a very rare "feature", the only software I know of to do this is EasyPraise, an almost unheard of commercial product. But when many people are reading trying to read it, their brain is not in sync with the controller's brain, so it's actually distracting and requires considerable concentration.įor the reasons above, I doubt it is a "feature" OpenLP will ever support. Scrolling works well if the controller is the only one reading the text. If it were, you would see it used more on TV, etc. Have you ever tried reading the credits at the end of a movie? Although it sounds nice in theory, it's actually not at all audience friendly.
